The tapes are excellent!

Dear Mr. Noel:

For as long as I can remember, my Grandfather's pocket watch has taken up room in the top
dresser drawer, first at my parents' home and then at mine.  Its workings and the manner of
cleaning and repair had been one of  the  mysteries of my life.  For over fifty years I resisted
the temptation to dismantle the treasured heirloom for fear of doing more harm than good.
That watch, along with several others, are now prominently on display  in my home.  The
ancient timepieces are in perfect working order and I can proudly say,  "I fixed them".

Your "BASIC WATCH REPAIR" videotape was just what I needed.  It provided clear concise
step-by-step instruction on cleaning and repair.  The instruction employed inexpensive, readily
obtainable tools so I was able to try the process without a large outlay of cash for special tools.
In addition, the tape comes with a handy index so, if I ran into trouble or had a question, I could
easily find the needed guidance.

After one viewing, I had enough confidence to undertake my first repair.  It was a total success.
Over the past few weeks I have brought a total of three watches back to working order and am
eager to undertake more complex or advanced repairs.  One thing is for sure, I have already
recovered more than the cost of the videotape by repairing these watches.

In closing, I want to express my sincere thanks for providing the videotape that has solved one
of the mysteries of my life and opened  the door to a rewarding hobby and possibly more.

I am not a watchmaker, but rather used the videos as education.  Very enlightening, for example,
when a watch is labeled "motor barrel" or "safety Pinion".  Such features are thoroughly explained
and displayed.

Your Watch Videos were very informative and easy to understand.  I especially liked the you have
various topics listed on a piece of paper which in turn were cross referenced to the exact times on
the videos (the time is superimposed on the tapes).  This made it easy to locate specific repairs or
techniques, an how to do something.  Excellent for beginners and has increased my watch repair skills.  I look forward to any future videos you may produce.

Got your videos last week and have watched them. They were excellent.
(better than some open university videos that I had to study from a few years ago).

The watch strip down was especially relevant since I bought a cheap job lot of 10 watches from a junk shop  a few weeks ago whichincluded 3 Elgins (and 2 verges!) all of which are filthy.

If you ever do any other related watch repair videos let me know please.

Thank you for the watch repair videos.  They have been very helpful especially for learning to replace balance staffs, roller jewels, and for other balance repairs.

Collecting and reapiring pocket watches is my hobby and very different from my regular occupation.

Dear Harvey,
I received the videos today and I cant tell you how pleased I was after watching the first tape. It appears that you cover most everything I should know at this point (as I am a novice with a couple of minor repairs under my belt). You have done an outstanding job..... I also received today a 15j
Elgin in need of repair, how fitting to have received what is basically the same watch as you use in the video. The loop on the end of the mainspring is broken off and the safety pinion came loose, both of which will be repaired and put back together tomorrow.
Thank you very much !!
Sincerely,
Gerald

Hi Harvey,

I received the tapes yesterday and viewed them last night. They were great! The part about the escapement by itself was worth the purchase....

Thanks and take care,

Chris
